What does orange shirt day mean to me?
Orange shirt day is a day that should not go unnoticed. It was one girl who that made a huge impact on those in the past and will continue to do so in the future. We should continue to learn about it, and acknowledge what happened, similar to other events in history. Maybe we can learn from it, and really think about the small things that mean much more. Orange shirt day to is that small thing that meant more.
My goal for my design was to create a piece of art, but also a symbol. The turtle was inspired by some First Nations art, and the patterns in the turtle are meant to resemble some Indigenous artwork and patterns.
